Colorblind

Tolerating Intolerance

By Earl W. PearlPublished 3 years ago 1 min read

I know we all are different

No two are just alike

For some this is an issue

They tend to counter-strike

Regardless what your race is

No matter what you claim

Not all our views will always

Align with yours the same

For many that’s a problem

They say we must agree

If not we’re not accepted

And that just shouldn’t be

What causes me to stumble

What I don’t understand

If we’re in disagreement

You’ll make it a demand

The place of my expression

Is not a place of hate

I’ve never been transphobic

That’s simply just the bait

I live my life a Christian

This much I know is true

If I’m embracing hatred

I’m judged as bad as you

So differing opinions

They’re here and here to stay

It shouldn’t be a reason

To push someone away

We’re on this ride together

Now hang on, hang on tight

We all have tickets for the ride

Let’s try to get this right
