The Mysterious Heart

The love I seek is forever evasive.

It cannot be found

Because my heart is unsure.

It beats fearfully.

It does not know

My lover's intentions.

The path is unclear.

There is a pull and a tug

Towards innocence.

But he is cruel.

His beauty hides reality

And tricks me.

It's simple.

It's a wicked game

Of mirrors and deception.

This love is vague.

It is impossible

To calculate and measure.

It is untraveled and unfamiliar.

I am afraid of this unknown;

The terrains of my own heart.

So love confounds me.

And yet I pursue it

Beyond the darkness.

This is beautiful and honest, it really captures that mix of fear and longing that comes with love.
