The United States' Perfection
President Washington is worth the adulation.
Presidents’ Day is meant for reflection.
There’s time to contemplate on the men who
Have lead the United States’ perfection.
But great Presidents, there have been too few.
Commanders-in-chief like Washington just
Show that men of thought and action can make
Do with much aplomb and can earn all trust.
At least the first one could for goodness sake.
By exhibiting intrepidity,
Washington focused on laying a firm
Stance against weakness and stupidity.
In office, he would serve more than one term.
But it was just one more, he didn’t stay.
For his lasting good works we mark his Day.
