The Truth About Loss
A Five Senses Poem About Dealing with Loss
Experiences with loss are painful. Sadly, we all have them. Coming to terms with them, ironically, sets us free. And the Shadows are shadows no more.

I see dark shadows where a void resides,
Words resonate clear that time divides.
Odor of emptiness, where hope once thrived,
The bitter taste of memories contrived.
And touchβwhatβs left, now slipping, but set to rise.

"odor of emptiness" I got stuck in a trance over that one....I felt it
Cleverly done for a sensitive topic.
Gosh that third line hit me so hard! Loved your poem!
A clear sense of loss. Sad and beautiful
This is a beautiful poem. I am trying to make the bitter taste of memories sweet, but grief is so complicated.
