Firm Handshake
A Poem on the Fragility of Trust
Trust is a fragile commodity, difficult to earn, easy to break. That fragility contributes to the frailty of relationships.
It is a worthy investment, one thatβs necessary to build and preserve. Enjoy how the five senses explore trust.

I see your certain handshake, unwavering,
Hear your vows thrum like a steady pulse.
The smell of your presence, constant and unfailing
The taste of silent air, truths left unspoken.
And the touch of your handβonce firm, now slipping away.

Oh that last line was so sad. Loved your poem!
I loved how reflective this poem is, Michelle. Once lost, trust is really hard to regain but it is also so fundamental to human relationships.
