The Thread and the Call.
For "The Road Drops Here" Challenge.

Once there was a thread spun long before time
woven quiet through breath and bone,
It shimmered like something half-remembered
the color of a memory not yet lived.
Two hearts were stitched by it,
not tightly, not by force.
But by something softer than reason,
and older than names.
He wandered far chasing echoes
forgetting the warmth in the quiet of her chest,
But she remembered...
Not everything, just enough.
Enough to wait,
not in stillness
but in the kind of hush that hums beneath thunder.
She left her call in the sky,
She wrote it in rain,
She tucked it between wildflower roots,
and in the last star before dawn.
And if he ever listens, truly listens
the thread will pull
Not painfully not sharply
Like a song he always knew...
He won’t know why his breath catches,
why the air bends different,
why his chest says turn.
But he will.
And he’ll find the path lit with her waiting.
Not with desperation,
But with a lantern of yes
And a door made of once upon a time
that still swings open.

Gorgeously-crafted Cathy! 💪🏾🩷🎉
Cathy this was amazing. I really love the line - and he’ll find the path lit with her waiting.
This was so beautiful and hopeful. Loved it so much!
You have brought us into a realm of possibilities and love. A well-woven reel of thread indeed!
The first line is giving me once upon a time vibes, but better. 'Not by force but something softer than reason'. Wow 😮 master weaver of words. Now that I think about it, reason does sound harsh and rough. Cathy. You took my breath away. There's that line I prophesied... Well ... Sort of. 'once upon a time' my oh my. The second to last line. If I could get married again, someone would have to read this at my wedding. It's like you're bringing two people together here. They never quite fit before, maybe that was just lies being told from long ago. But that thread would set them free, free to fall in each others arms. AHH this, this is it. This is outstanding work Cathy! 🤗❤️
This was so soft, magical, and full of heart. Loved it!
