THE THEM

in US

THE THEM
Photo by Zhivko Minkov on Unsplash

so now what? it happened, he's in and we're out. or are we?

what if solidarity didn't cost your lifestyle, risks that got us in a permanent pothole?

would you, person in the USA's military walk out with your fellow soldiers, same folks you trained with, trusted? I don't think you will or would.

what if we all stood up for a family member who is not a "HE" or a "SHE" rather "THEY" and lost all of our social status with friends, perhaps a few conservative family members? would you?

what about your job? do you stand up, with or watch silently as they are suppressed?

where do the they in the we the people go to love, exercise their rights to pursue the freedom of happiness in peace?

i do not know the answers: i do understand fear, the radicalization of gender identity being targeted by one vile man- why do i care?

how a person identifies with gender is not the "government's" business

unfolding before us is a war on ethics, equality, and all the goodness in US

~ who are we without them? ~

First They Came by Pastor Martin Niemöller: First they came for the Communists And I did not speak out Because I was not a Communist Then they came for the Socialists And I did not speak out Because I was not a Socialist Then they came for the trade unionists And I did not speak out Because I was not a trade unionist Then they came for the Jews And I did not speak out Because I was not a Jew Then they came for me And there was no one left To speak out for me

Beautifully and poignantly said Andrea 🩷 the world should be a 'we' and this division sets a dangerous and scary precedent.

Dead on! Let's make sure to remain "We, the People"... Even here in Canada! Top Story, indeed. 🏅

Fantastic way to focus on the splitting of society, it should be more "WE" than them and us, we are all just humans, if I love a man or a woman, i am still just human like every body else, if i feel like a man or like a woman but live in the opposite body I am still just human. If my skin has a different colour than others, I am still just a human. I feel faith, hope and love no matter if my inner language is English, Danish, Spanish or what ever - I am still just human.

It's easy to say we’d stand up until we’re faced with losing something ourselves—whether it’s comfort, community, or safety. But you’re right, the war on equality and ethics is everyone's fight. Thank you for putting this into words.

We always have and always will be here. But you're right, will others stand together, or rather fall for the propaganda that will only harm everyone but the top rich few in the end

I can feel how free-spirited you are from the strength of your words. They truly resonate with the harsh reality we live in. Thank you for sharing; this is the first time I’ve come across someone talking about this topic. I really appreciate it! ✨✨

The tone feels raw and urgent, asking us to think about how we define ourselves in the face of growing division. It’s thought-provoking! Keep pushing those boundaries!
