How

Can

He be

So happy

While she is crying

Her eyes out every night before bed

~~~~~
How
Can
She wake
Up daily
And put on a smile
No one knew she was faking it
~~~~~

How

Can

He give

Her that look

Full of anger when

She didn't do anything wrong

~~~~~
How
Can
I tell
Her that she
Has dodged a bullet
She doesn't need that gaslighter
~~~~~

Now

She's

The Queen

Of her life

And she wears a crown

She made it out of her teardrops

~~~~~
Fibonacci poetry (or the Fib) is a 6-line poem that follows the mathematical Fibonacci sequence for syllable count per line.
For the 6-line poem that means:
  • 1 syllable for the first line
  • 1 syllable for the second line
  • 2 syllables for the third line
  • 3 syllables for the fourth line
  • 5 syllables for the fifth line
  • 8 syllables for sixth line
There are variations where the Fibonacci expands even further with each line, but to understand how to accomplish this, you need to understand the Fibonacci math sequence of starting with 0 and 1 and then adding the last two numbers together to add to infinity.
0+1=1
1+1=2
1+2=3
2+3=5
3+5=8
5+8=13
8+13=21
13+21=34
and so on and so forth...
    A Fibinacci poem that stimulates the heart and the mind. I liked the structure of it. Well written.
    This poetic form almost washes the words over us, at a pace where it's slow and meaningful. I like the progression, of feeling almost defeated. To finally wearing her crown. 'she made it out of her teardrops' this line was my favourite because I could imagine the literal meaning. That is what makes it so powerful . Like a rip in the teardrop, and she walks out as if it like a door opened up. Fantastic. Never heard of the Fib, but I love what you did with it. Fantastic work Dharr πŸ€—β€οΈ
    Your talent is boundless. I like that I learned something knew, but the real treat was reading this. Heartfelt sad yet inspiring, filled with truth.
    Well, I learned something new and ejnoyed the way you presented it! I''m familiar with the Fibbonaci sequence from my art studies a long time ago. There's a composition method using the "Fibbonaci Spiral" for the placement of objects. Thank you for the powerful poem and the explanation. I may have to play with The Fib a little!
    I like how there's strength and liberty at the end, but not without sadness and turmoil. (I will also consider this whole fib style of poetry). Thank you!
    Wow! Impressive! Inspiring too, now I want to attempt the Fib! 🫢
  • Amazingly beautiful! I love this from several points of view. I love anything with the Fibonacci sequence and yet, this is the first time I encountered Fibonacci poetry. I loved it!
    This poem hits differently for me this time around, I will admit I partially forgot the message behind it. But upon re-reading it strikes a different cord this time around. I found this poem more freeing and uplifting, more inspiring! This was sad for me, it felt like watching a phoenix rise from the ashes of tragedy!! This is such a beautiful piece!
    Dharrsheena, I love the poetry where you experiment with formatting! I also appreciate the insights on how Fibonacci poetry works. Is was a sad poem with a really deep meaning but you wrote it so beautifully! πŸ’œ
    Brilliantly done! You've inspired me to try one myself xx
  • Form and content go so well ... both the structure and the story build together. Please, Vocal, a Fib challenge!!
  • I really liked this poem. This would be great for Vocal to do as a Challenge. Fib poems, it would be unique. :)
