The Taste of Rain

a desert reborn

By Sara LittlePublished 12 months ago 1 min read

I blinked

and she was there,

unexpected as the hush before a storm

that waters parched places -

barren canyons carved

into this cracked-dust desert heart;

I had not yet tasted of rain

until she pressed the sky to my lips,

spoke thunder and longing

and i blossomed an oasis.
