Shall we have this last dance my darlin?

You always could move them fine hips

If only trust worked like feet

we could hop all life long

Instead, our waltzes,

stumbling with guilt,

swings us to

the friend

zone.

Smashing! Hope it gets TS at the very least. Favourite bit: If only trust worked like feet, we could hop all life long

This was kind of onomatopoeic as a whole.

Lamar, this was a fabulous nonet! Love the classic kind of feel it has for me!! Great work!!

FANTASTIC! “If only trust worked like feet” was such a good line and the whole poem is incredibly and intentionally well composed

  • The friendzone is the saddest place to be. Loved your Nonet!

  • "If only trust worked like feet" Great line! (in the context of your poem! Out of that context... it's still great, for all the possible hilarious (mis)interpretations!) Well-wrought!

Oh! That ending. The friend zone - so painful! I loved the vibe of this poem so much! :)

Using dance as a metaphor for the old two-step from lovers to friends is brilliant, Lamar! I loved it!

Life as a dance. Really enjoyed this.

AWW! So sadly poetic. Life is a dance, do we keep dancing to the rhythm forever, or do our feet falter half way through the dance. So much said in a few lines. Poignant.
