The System

Lost in The Crowd

By Dan R FowlerPublished 2 years ago 1 min read

The System

To have fallen and not attempted to get up,

Is worse than being beaten but able to stand on your feet.

It is far better to admit that you have an empty cup,

Than to deceive people into thinking you’re complete.

This world and its systems in which we’re entwined,

Offers little comfort when we oppose its orders.

But we must look beyond those who are fake and blind,

To see that it is ourselves who must determine our borders.

So let us fight the fight and push our way forward,

And shout and yell and make our purpose clear.

It isn’t the programs or policies that make our world,

But our foreordained purpose that creates their fear.

Once standing up from our fall, shaking clear the debris,

We can see much clearer and unravel secrets that tether.

But its still the system in all of its glory, they plea,

That seeks to confine us in sun-dried leather.
