The Symbol

~ ~ ~

By Rowan Finley Published 12 months ago Updated 12 months ago 1 min read

He saw the symbol on the table,

his eyes squinting, he couldn't understand it.

What could it mean?

Was it a symbol from something in the past?

Was it a warning that the future would, soon, blast?

Was it intended for just him?

Should he tell anyone else about it?

He had gone for a morning walk and it was just an ordinary day...

so he thought,

but coming back inside,

on the table,

the symbol appeared in such an odd way...

Were the pieces metal or plastic or something else?

He searched the house and checked the doors...

Sure enough, the back door was cracked open,

and he had not been through that door,

but had forgotten to lock it the night before...
