The Sunflower Plant
It was a success in my gardening journey

Just look at the sunflower plant!
Let me tell it's inspiring story.
I had bought a packet of seeds,
with a goal to have own garden girasol.
Having never grown this plant before,
I had my doubt, but I proceeded with hope.
I shoved them in the backyard raised bed.
The seeds germinated in time,
and the saplings grew taller each day.
First came the fuzzy, huge leaves
and then followed the flower buds.
Dozens of cheerful yellow blooms opened,
catching the sunlight, brightening the space.
Bees arrived, and so did hummingbirds.
Pollinator partook of nectars,
and some flowers graced the vases.
Ray florets faded, and seeds were formed.
Then came the finches to forage,
I harvested some seeds for my munching,
and of course, future planting.
The plant completed its life cycle.
The dead stalk remained, to serve as trellis
for runner bean and sweet pea vines.
My effort sure was rewarded,
So, try what you aspire, don't be sacred.
