Rising Above Pain and Forgiveness

You don’t have to be grateful to the individual who caused you pain. His pain can only establish that he is really wicked. What reasons do you have to thank him? Both of you got through it, and all you have to do is turn to yourself and say thank you.

Why should you be grateful that your star hockey player or that baseball all-star got injured? Other than that, it should have been smooth sailing but you always have to rise and rise and march on.

As for pain, you are just reminded not to be like that in the future as was said by Diana, Princess of Wales.

For instance, when one gets to recall or reflect on events, persons, and issues that were rather painful, disgusting, and heinous, at the end of it one does not hate them but rather just moves on and ignores them.

Actually, when one gets older learning to forgive should not be possible. If you are enraged take anger. Take my advice, if you can’t let go, don’t let it go. If you do not wish to forgive then you should not reconcile with someone you do not wish to forgive. There will be less forgiving and there will be fewer strangers or insignificant characters entering one’s life.

Then you can give a little more love and sincerity to the people that you actually care for and probably matter to you.
