The Story of Light and Dark

D7

By James GreenPublished 3 years ago 1 min read

In a world where concepts took on life,

Of anthropomorphised beings, free from strife,

There lived a character, of the abstract kind,

With form and thought, and heart that you could find.

His name was Hope, and he was always bright,

Bringing joy to all, with his presence in sight,

But one day, as he wandered through the land,

He met Despair, and all his peace was banned.

Despair was dark, and carried a frown,

Bringing sadness, to all the people around,

He said to Hope, "Why do you smile so?

This world is bleak, and nothing's meant to grow."

Hope replied, "Despair, your words are rude,

For life's a journey, full of challenges and moods,

But with a little hope, we can overcome,

And find the joy, in what life has begun."

Despair was stunned, by Hope's response so bold,

And felt a glimmer, of something new unfold,

And so, they journeyed, on together, hand in hand,

Spreading love and light, throughout the land.

And in their wake, they left a path of glee,

As the people followed, their newfound destiny,

And Hope and Despair, became great friends,

Bringing joy to all, until their story ends.
