The Start of a Smile

The Start of a Smile

At first

a twinkle

sparkling like a glint

of light on a mirror

that hits a lonely

dark

corner of a wall

It cascades into

cozy crinkles

that mimic

birds feet

you can almost hear

the tittering giggle

of those old crows

as the curling up

of a corner begins

like a child

carefully peeling

the tiniest portion

of wrapping paper

slowly revealing

a heart given

perfect

gift
