Everyone has had the experience of being overlooked or disregarded in favour of someone or something else.
But every shadow has qualities that allow it to shine in the spotlight, no matter how dark it seems.
From the perspective of those who will rise in time to come.

He shone in every light that flooded,
basked in its cherished,golden glow
never saw those who lingered,
beneath the shining rays.
But shadows grow long
intense and sure
when they’re seen
and set
free.
