The Spirit Of Christmas
Memories We Cherish Forever
Lights twinkle on the Christmas tree,
Carolers sing of a baby born,
Children wait in anticipation,
For Santa to bring presents they
Will adore,
Mince pies baking in the oven,
Fills our senses with warm spice,
A bauble falls from the branches,
I've already hung it twice!
As we gather around the table,
We crack crackers in sheer delight,
We say our prayers of gratitude,
As soft feathers of snow,
Fall from the sky,
The silver moon shines
The world shimmers in silent white,
We all hug each other;
We remember the spirit of Christmas,
Brings memories we cherish forever.

This is fantastic, Carol. I love the conversational way that you wrote this poem. I especially like the part about the bauble falling off the tree. Such an excellent poem!
