Are you a part of the apparatus of greed?
Everyday we’re inundated with scenes
Of throngs of people grasping at the goods.
Selfishness to the unwise simply means
That all of these acts are fit for the woods.
The animals wrest objects from each hand
Of others, without regard. So they call
For Small Business Saturday and demand
Giving Tuesday be where you offer all.
But Big Business Everyday is the key.
It ensures that scores are producing stuff.
That the greed and selfishness might just see
The day where these virtues are quite enough.
Self-interest is what the holidays mean.
It’s all apart of the special machine.
