The Smell of Rain.
When You Come.

Knowing the inevitable
Makes my restless heart stable—
Like the gentle rain
Washing all the fear away,
And the pain that came before.
All is forgiven.
It wasn’t you.
It wasn’t me.
We weren’t us—but
Now we have returned.
And together we walk,
Hand in hand,
The new air
Our love—
Soft as wet earth,
Brave as blooming green
That rises after storms.
We breathe in silence—
Not the silence of absence,
But the kind that listens
To the hush between raindrops,
Where truth lingers,
Unspoken
But felt.
I don’t ask where you’ve been.
You don’t ask what I’ve lost.
The past falls from us,
Drop by drop,
Like the sky releasing
All it can no longer hold.
And in the smell of rain,
When you come,
I remember
How to be whole.
