The Silence You Left

A poem

Since the moment you left this world

I've felt the weight of your absence

Listening hard for the sound of your laughter

Except I'm met with palpable silence.

Nothing prepared me for goodbye.

Constantly yearning to hear your voice but

Eventually I just stopped trying.
