Sunshine fills the small room with the bright promise of a new day.
Inside, she shivers, her mind racing in the cold silence.
Light bounces off the equipment in the sterile room, stinging her eyes.
Ever since the oncologist delivered the news, her brain vibrates with the words.
“No change, it’s not working, we’re going to discontinue treatment.”
“Cancer cells are still multiplying, we’re going to try another drug.”
Enough, she wants to scream, but she signs the necessary paperwork.

This is heartbreaking and something I hope to never fully understand. I hope this is not personal. Sadly, my MIL did pass away from cancer though. Heartwrenching piece. I dove into the subject in one of my own entries as well.
