There are large crowds of people all around.
"Joyful faces" flicker with sight and sound.
Parties and excitement are in demand.
As they are desperate for a new escape.
The intoxicating taste of release
To soothe our minds and to put us at ease.
Advice from our vices to numb the pain
Yet we still come face-to-face with loneliness.
So the crowds of people go day to day
With a heavy heart and something to say;
"Am I all alone? I am so afraid."
But no one else knows; It is the side they hide.
Sending mixed signals is human nature.
Since our actions speak louder than our words.
It is no wonder we suffer in silence
When hearing about:
Neglected people from every nation
Lost and long for an appreciation
Of sacrificing their time and future.
Loneliness may be their only companion.
(Unless we nurture the hope they abandon.)
We are all susceptible to evil.
Regardless of if we are good people.
The question remains, "What side do I hide?"
And do we keep it a secret until we die?
(Vulnerability is our treasured cry.)
