The Shore of Your Eyes
Drunk on Distance, Sober on Pain

This ghazal captures the deep yearning and stormy emotions of love and separation. It paints an image of surrendering to love like a wave crashing upon the shore, only to be left with longing in the wake of departure. The poet navigates the vast ocean of passion, facing both the beauty and the pain of devotion.
I dared the sea, and the storm awoke,
The shore of your eyes stretched infinite and broke.
A single glance, and my chaos poured,
Night in your hands became a flower restored.
Your wine spilled deep into my veins,
Yet the pain of distance forever remains.
You stole the moon from the heart of night,
And left the sky in a ruinous plight.
You left, yet your scent still strays,
Wandering lost in the alleyways.
