The senses, they were feeling quite cross

For they were tired of being the boss

Sight said, "I'm tired of seeing the same old view

I need a vacation, something brand new"

Hearing chimed in, "I'm sick of the noise

The constant chatter, it's such a ploy

I need some peace, some quiet, some calm

Or else I'll go off like a fire alarm"

Touch whined, "I'm worn out from all the feels

From hot to cold, from prickly to steel

I need a break, some time to unwind

Or else I'll be in a world of bind"

Taste grumbled, "I'm done with all this food

The same old flavors, it's so rude

I need something different, something unique

Or else I'll throw up and be quite meek"

Smell sniffed, "I'm tired of all the stink

The garbage, the smoke, it's too much to brink

I need some fresh air, a change of scent

Or else I'll be in a foul mood, bent"

And so the senses, they went on strike

Leaving the body, in quite a plight

For without them, life was quite absurd

And the body was left feeling quite perturbed

But eventually, the senses came around

For they realized, they were quite profound

And so they went back to their old ways

Gracing the body with their amazing displays

And the body, it rejoiced and sang

For the senses, they were back, with a bang

And life was good, and life was grand

With the senses, guiding the body, hand in hand.

Thoroughly enjoyed the senses making a break for it. I would not blame them if they never returned. The allergies would be very happy. 🏍🛴
