The Seed Pressed Between My Rib Cage Will Bloom, With Or Without You
I will trust in Mother Nature every time
I’m a lover of nature, of gardens
Plants, animals and our Earth,
Nature’s beauty is unparalleled
An ecosystem that knows it’s worth.
***
Human Beings on the other hand
Are difficult to believe and trust,
Here today, then gone tomorrow
Your relationship turning to dust,
***
Nature is what you see, you get
But people are prone to shock,
Love you one minute, hate the next
Where in nature a rock is a rock.
***
Happiness together is subjective
Unable to be trusted day by day,
One unintentional error, a slip up
And they will leave straight away.
***
I’ll put my faith in Mother Nature
I’ve learnt time and time again,
Not to believe in relationships
All they cause is incredible pain.
***
Great today, finished tomorrow
Walking on egg shells, insecure,
Hypocritical love, often withheld
Your walking away is premature.
***
But Mother Nature has my back
For example, I will get my due,
The seed you pressed with love,
In that space between my rib cage
Will bloom with or without you.

My first love is poetry — it’s like a desperate need to write, to free up space in my mind, to escape the constant noise in my head. Most of the time the poems write themselves — I’m just the conduit holding the metaphorical pen.
