The earth lies parched beneath the sun,
A silent plea for what is gone.
I seek of God, what makes us blind
To simple acts of being kind?
We crave compassion, not the sting
Of harsh words that such sorrows bring.
I plant no seeds of discord's strain,
But nurture love in sun and rain.
Let children learn a tender touch,
Caring for those who need it much.
Let mothers share a comforting word,
By understanding always stirred.
Let fathers show a gentle hand,
Extending help across the land.
I ask you, Lord, to help us sow
The seeds of kindness, let them grow
In every heart, a vibrant bloom,
Dispelling shadows of the gloom.
Nourish the goodness deep inside,
You are the source where virtues hide.
It's you, my Lord, whose grace can start,
A transformation in each heart.
Instill in us a caring way,
To brighten someone's weary day.
Uproot the weeds of cruelty's art,
Let empathy play a vital part.
Hear us, Lord, our humble plea,
Let kindness be our legacy.
Destroy the thorns of bitter will,
Let gentle hearts your purpose fill.
You Almighty God, whose love is vast,
Let kindness be a bond that lasts.
