THE SECRETS OF THE SPIRIT BOARD
Not a toy to play with be warned

THE SECRETS OF THE SPIRIT BOARD
In a dim-lit room where shadows play,
A wooden board waits, secrets to say.
Letters and numbers, with a planchette near,
Whispers of spirits, lingering here.
“Are you there?” a brave soul dared,
With fingers alight, filled with suspense and care.
A madman laughed, hair wild and free,
Challenging forces, too blind to see.
With a flicker and tremor, the candlelight shook,
The planchette moved, as if it could look.
“Yes!” it responded, a thrill in the night,
The madman’s confidence vanished from sight.
“What's your message?” he prompted with glee,
But the board only shivered, its energy free.
A soft whisper echoed, sending chills through the air,
“Leave us in peace, if you truly care.”
But laughter turned eerie as shadows drew near,
Cold fingers brushed him, igniting his fear.
“Is this a joke?” he stammered, feeling bold,
While the board just chuckled, its stories untold.
With a jump and a dash, the madman took flight,
Out of his skin, into the pale moonlight.
The board lay still, its presence now bright,
Laughter echoing softly in the depths of the night.
So, if you’re bold, tread carefully and slow,
For wooden boards reveal what we don’t want to know.
And sometimes they’re funny, while sometimes they’ll fright,
In the realms of the unknown, where shadows take flight.

I think this one goes into the 'one of your best piles,' Marie. I loved the imagery and the rhyme that moves it along gentle waves.
I talk to spirits but stay away from spirit boards.
I've never played with a spirit board before, but I've always been curious.
Spirit boards are spooky! I've seen some strange things happen around them. It's like they have a life of their own. Be careful if you mess with one.
