*

He gazed fondly again, towards that old garden gate

the urge to run, as strong as the voices that drew him

He longed deeply, for its pardon, from his current fate

the escape offered what he'd wanted, within

*

Life has a way of slowly closing in

when the spirit inside, decides to run

He closed his eyes, and with a sly grin

crossed that line, that cannot be undone

He dismissed his fear and disappeared

into the briar, the roses, a witness

For nothing could ever, remotely compare

to his lovely, lover's loving kisses

*

The power of that one secret, kept

shook him to his very soul

The memory of those moments, aggressively crept

until at last he'd lost all his control

*

The moonlight igniting the pathway

like a beacon of hope in the night

He pruned and protected that archway

for, when in a moment like this, he'd take flight

She waited for him, like a treasure

as faithful, as that old twisted oak tree

Keeping his secret, with pleasure

who else, this hyperbole, believe

fact or fiction

    Definitely!!! Fabulously written!!!💕❤️❤️

  • Enchanting, enticing with bated breath, stomach in knots, & heart in the throat. Close your eyes, take a deep breath &, without thinking any further, take the leap.
