The Second Love

A tale that always ends

By Rushika The PoetPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

1. my lover Spun words

from my collapsing heart

into wildfires

2. “I love you so much,

I’m scared”

- Him

3. I breathe him in

Purge his red and blues

Until all that’s left is in

Ruins and dust

Me and him.

4. Sometimes I wonder

If loving is

taking a plunge

into the ocean

Would you say you loved,

if you didn’t drown?

5. How did we fail at us?

- Him

6. Me and you

It was an anomaly

In this pale blue dot

Out of all the possibilities

I entangled with you

7. We birthed chaos

8. Now I’m just a girl

that survived you

And You’re just

another War story

etched down my spine.
