The Screeching Owl

In the Ancient times before modernized warfare, the Athenians and Spartans war over territory

For several years, this war raged

With the conquerors gaining the wealth and each day was a battlefield.

Even their religion and philosophical thinking were diversive. Athens believed in their protectors and sought heavenly treasures. Spartans believed in themselves, their strength and power and might. It happened on a heated day that the battle went into the night and every soldier slept with one eye open to fight. The Commander of the Spartans warned be aware of the singing owls, the screeching owls know nothing but the singing owls trace your footsteps as we must advance into the enemy. As each soldier crossed the owls perceived from the mounts and trees. They pierce with their archers the hearts of the owls beginning to coo. A soldier struck an owl in it's nest and had compassion on the little owl, he would sing to it on his watch. Reprimanded by a superior, he lied and said he killed the owl. The Athenians thought it was strange no singing owls and the night without a screech. A young Athenian found that young owl and fed him and interpret his reactions and the Commander of the Athenians following the singing young owl and the young Athenian caught the Spartans 40 miles from their Acropolis forcing a retreat.
