he slammed his pen down on the book,
stood and swore.
not another second should he allow himself
to let that thought incubate.
no!!!!

this madness needed to end.
his great work, his debut novel, was almost finished.
now, this scoundrel
was trying to break in,
and force him to rework his storyboard.

he slammed the door and vowed to the empty room
he'd never write the bastard in
but between his ham sandwich and the news
he revised a plan to tweak the plot
and write a scene fit for a king
***
with his paper sword in hand
he raised it high above his head
and watched in glee as his treacherous character
decided to flee
from the madman with the pen.

alas - oh joy!
he scanned the pages and set to work.
another chapter comes to an end
but what if his nemesis returns
before the last words are written?
