The River of Souls

I will cup the water,

and offer the first sip.

But when thirst calls again,

will you drink from it too?

You speak of the river,

and dream of its depths.

But when the current pulls,

will you dive into its embrace?

The first taste is sweet,

a drop upon the lips.

Will you seek the stream?

Will you quench your soul?

And when the waves rise,

and the ocean calls your name,

will you take the plunge?

Will you trust the flow?

I may find the river,

but I cannot cross alone.

We are stronger together.

Will you swim beside me?

If you truly seek life,

and long to be free,

I will wade into the tide,

but will you follow too?

Will you cross the riverand embrace the endless sea?
