The River of Life
A Poem on The Necessity of Thanks
Gratitude is the River of Life. -Michelle Liew
**********************************************************************
Gratefulness, a river that ever flows
Etches on stone, a balm for barren land
Its waters soothe and guide the heart to know
**********************************************************************
Through weather harsh, the river still stands grand
Though rains may pour, or sear the cloudless sky,
It quenches thirst with a calming, open hand
**********************************************************************
Waters run deep, heeding the Earth’s pained cries,
Reviving roots, in dry soil, parched, forlorn
A light that lingers, though dreams may, wither, die
**********************************************************************With each heartbeat, the scorching sun is scorned,
Living water, unseen but rich with grace,
Its flow endures, life’s tests always won.
