The River Beside My Village
A Song of Time, Love, and Flowing Dreams

Beside the fields, a river gleams,
Where I get lost inside my dreams.
Its ripples laugh in endless rhyme —
Forever flowing,
Forever kind.
Upon its tide, the boats still sway,
Drunk with life’s eternal play.
Truth and sin both drift and meet,
In waters deep,
In silence sweet.
In secret thoughts, a tender fair,
Where hearts and words entwine in air;
There too the river softly sings —
Forever flowing,
Forever brings.
By night, by day, its whispers stay,
A breath of time that fades away.
Through every month its waters run,
In quiet grace,
Beneath the sun.
My river stays, my heart remains,
Amid the waves, amid the rains.
Though time’s cold stones may break apart,
No one sails
This drifting heart.
The waves lament, the clouds reply,
Their voices echo through the sky.
Yet still they smile in tender rhyme —
Forever flowing,
Beyond all time.
