Fairy
A Song of Fire, Flight, and Farewell

You fly away, so high, so far,
While I drown beneath my falling stars.
In tears I float, in flames I stay,
Still I wait for you — day by day.
I never longed for wealth or fame,
Or pride that hides behind a name.
All I sought was your blue-sky smile,
A dream that burned, yet felt worthwhile.
You fly away, so high, so far,
While I drown beneath my falling stars.
In tears I float, in flames I stay...
I burn, and burn — but cannot sway.
How can I bind this weary mind?
It drifts through winds it cannot find.
A lonely kite in your endless sky,
Tethered to hopes that never die.
You are my water’s secret fire,
My springtime flame, my one desire.
I float through forests, deep and wild,
A storm-tossed soul, a dream exiled.
Time is holy, time is mad,
It heals, it breaks, it loves, it’s sad.
And I — alone beneath its call,
Hold your memory, through it all.
How can I bind this weary mind?
It spins, it aches, it’s left behind.
Your sky still hums a song so near,
Yet my voice fades — you cannot hear.
You fly away, so high, so far,
While I drown beneath my falling stars.
In tears I float, in flames I stay,
Still I wait for you — day by day.
