The Ringing Over, Over, and Over

Poem

By K.A. SmithPublished about a year ago 1 min read

A salvation worker
Stands and
Shake their bells like clovers
Made of gold.
Only a wish away from a problem
Being over.
Outside stores for luck,
Stood in the present as
Customers spend their bucks.
Ironically, walks by... the buck.
Begging for a merry merry merry.
Wearing unpopular colors,
White and cherry.
The ringing over over
And over.

The imagery of the salvation worker shaking their bells and the irony of the buck walking by highlights the often-overlooked struggle of the less fortunate during festive times.
