The Revenge of an 'Uncaring' Husband.

As if you were the Sun..

By Ahmet F. IlhanPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

As if you were the running waters -

Gleaming with warmth during Spring,

Cold and white-piled in Winter -

I adore all forms of you,

Because sometimes you’re soft like untouched snow;

Sometimes life-threatening..

An avalanche..

A barrage of snowfall..

But it is,

Nonetheless,

Beautiful,

And it is,

Nonetheless,

You.

As if you were the Sun -

Burning atop me and burning bright -

Your existence comforts me,

And enlivens everything in sight.

And alongside all above,

It is only an appendage, that you,

To desperate Creation, give life.

As if you were the rustling trees,

With greener than green leaves,

I wish to sleep in your shade..

And, amidst the harmony, to freeze..

And to spend all day, sniffing the scents you make.

Whether you be irritable that day,

Or,

By some miraculous turn of events,

Pleasant;

Whether you listen to me,

Or,

Unto my lap,

Unload your day’s frustration, like dirty laundry;

I like you, even when you complain.

I like you, especially when you complain;

You’ve all the right to do so;

We’ve kept you for far too long -

Part the clouds and go,

Dear.

The End.
