The Reflection of Life
The reflection of life is like a mirror: It shows what we want to see, but also what we try to hide. Between light and shadows, we find our truth.
And if I knew who I was, I would have no difficulty knowing who I am now.
I simply was, I simply am.
My existence carries the burden of not knowing how to be.
If life is a symphonic orchestra, sometimes I am a piano, other times, I love you.
I relinquish my suffering to see you live moments,
because I know who you are and imagine who you will become.
You say that life is a temple and must be lived as divinity.
Life is like the sea: either you live, or you swim…
Today I cried and, from afar, I smiled—inside, I suffered.
I feel ashamed, ashamed of being like this: all or nothing.
I fear nothing, yet I know everything about suffering.
I know how to feel; I just don’t know how to make sense.
I love old age, but I fear its arrival.
Sometimes I look in the mirror and don’t recognize myself;
I see only the reflection of someone I do not know.
The woman in the mirror knows well the girl who lives within me,
but the girl does not recognize the woman that exists in my being.
The petals fall, time does not return.
Live, feel, be—for to live is to feel, and to feel is to be.

So much uncertainty yet so much more hope in this poem.
