The Red Moon Curse
Red moon over silent trees
bleeds its light on frozen leaves
wolves prowl through cursed ground
where no other sound is found
Eyes like coals in steady flame
answer to the moon’s command
paws sink deep in earth’s cold skin
following the scent within
Bones lie bare where grass once grew
stained by nights the moon once knew
the hunt begins, the rest disappears
Blood will soak the roots tonight
and shadows feast beyond all sight
the earth will keep what once was breath
The forest hides its hunger well
yet every leaf has tales to tell
of how the red moon spoke of death
No prayer can touch this cursed land
for death walks here with steady hand
and leaves no soul to mourn the dead

What an eerie poem and picture. Perfect together.
This was wonderfully atmospheric — the imagery of the red moon and cursed forest pulled me right in. It felt eerie, haunting, and almost musical in its rhythm. A chillingly beautiful piece.
