The Real Die

The Fake Lives Forever

Sniffing a fake plant like it's real

Because nothing that is real will ever stay alive

The lies will never die

The truth is a killer

The fake will live forever

So I cry

And go hide

The truth can put you on a long and crazy ride

Stopped by your own lies

I'll give you this fake smile

Even though the hurt lingers for a while

Don't want to live here forever

Not being afraid to die makes you braver

So, I will live in my truth

Be the realist person you ever knew

Not on social media being fake for views

What about you? What do you choose to do?

Your whole poem feels very authentic and relatable. Also timely. last few lines are absolutely a relevant challenge to me personally. Been thinking about stepping away from social media in some ways. Might not full on quit insta, but I uninstalled the app to remind myself not to waste time making noise or doom scrolling.

  • This was soooo profound! Loved your poem!
