The Rare Visitor

I hope to see you in my lifetime

She was a rare visitor,

a mystery to everyone,

never around long enough, and in a blink, she's gone

She wasn't just popular,

she was well admired

people tend to stop and stare whenever she transpired

Though, not everyone is able

to witness this event,

you'd be lucky if you saw her just once in your present.

During her fortuity,

she always looks the same,

they whisper she's an ageless beauty, and nothing dims her flame

There is a large portion,

of those who dare to dream,

saying she'll bring you hope and good fortune if she's ever seen

who is this person, you ask

that's glorified in fame?

she's the brightest shooting star, and Halley's Comet is her name.

Oh, I loved the way you held off the identity until the end. Clever and lovely wrapped up on in one, great work :)
