The Rainbow Complex

My favourite thing about a rainbow,

is the structure.

The way each colour is necessary for the next,

the way you can't have one without the other.

Red,

Into Orange,

Into Yellow,

Into Green,

Into Blue,

Into Purple.

It all makes sense.

I try to see my thoughts this way.

When they gets too busy,

I'll give them colour,

I'll give them structure:

Red is symbolic of spirit, of pushing boundaries and of making a statement.

Red is magnificent, but Red can be destructive.

Red is necessary for Orange.

Orange is symbolic of art, of creativity and of expression.

Orange is beautiful, Orange is unpredictable.

Orange is equal parts Yellow.

Yellow is symbolic of wonder, of innocence and of feeling carefree.

Yellow is wholesome, but can be mindless.

Yellow is necessary for Green.

Green is symbolic of values, of culture, and of community.

Green is rooted, Green is unconditional.

Green is equal parts Blue.

Blue is symbolic of cognition, of experience, and of learning.

Blue is open but can be vulnerable.

Blue is necessary for Purple.

Purple is symbolic of love, of intimacy, and of affection.

Purple is passionate, Purple is devoted.

And Purple is equal parts Red.

My favourite thing about my mind,

Is the structure.

The way each thought, each part of me, is necessary for the next,

The way you just can't have one without the other.

Spirit,

Together with Art,

Together with Wonder,

Together with Values,

Together with Cognition,

Together with Love.

When I see my mind as a rainbow,

It all makes sense.
