The Rain Speaks
Poetry on Hidden Lessons
This is for MIkeydred's April prompt
What would the rain say? ----Michelle Liew

I do not ask for a welcome note.
I knock when I must---
Gentle, or harsh---
To remind you that my ways will help you grow.

You run for shelter,
Curse the clouds,
Forget that the flowers you love
Begin in dark soil, watered and grown by me.

I do not come to hurt you.
I come to soften the Earth ,
To loosen your dirt,
To let you grieve what you must leave.

Please understand---
My storms are not punishments.
At times, I fall
For your fresh, clean start
One without fear
Of getting wet.
