The Quest for Inspiration

Oh inspiration, where have you gone?

My pen is dry, my mind withdrawn.

I search for words, but find them not,

The page before me, a daunting blank spot.

I've tried to force you, to summon your will,

But you resist me, you remain still.

I've walked the city, I've climbed the hills,

But your presence eludes me, it gives me chills.

Oh inspiration, won't you return?

My soul aches, my heart yearns.

For the beauty and passion you once bestowed,

To ignite my thoughts, to help me grow.

Perhaps I need a change of scene,

Or a new perspective, a different dream.

To see the world with fresh eyes,

And capture its essence with renewed guise.

So come to me, oh inspiration divine,

Bring forth your magic, make the words shine.

In your embrace, I find my way,

And the page before me, no longer gray.
