The cost of gas

Do my numbers race around,

and make your head shake?

Do you hear a sucking sound,

as more of your money I take?

How much did it cost this time,

to fill up your car’s tank?

Are your finances still fine,

or do you need a lone from the bank

I see you scream and shout,

each time you pull by.

Beyond a shadow of a doubt,

last time I saw you cry.

Did you have a choice to make?

Was there something you let pass?

What did you not take,

so you could buy some gas?

Does the dream start to fade,

as you turn to face the strain?

Did parts of your life degrade,

and to whom do you complain?
