the providence of her wings

may I hold your heart in my palms

The providence of her wings

soaring above my valley of shadows

reminding me to look up

to raise my eyes

to see the world anew

I feel the terror in my bones

and dark shivers up my spine

your soul chose this vessel

this time and place to love

unearthing history's hidden skeletons

we dance with them and uncover the glory beneath

shrouded in yesterdays bloodshed

and our adoration of power

Blindly forgetting true power comes from within

and our devotion to every seed of life

we gaze at the gentle flourishing of our destiny

blooming from the center

our hearts beat as one

and our souls cry for freedom

as we yearn to honor every soul and every color

may I hold your heart in my palms

to hear the story of your loss

may I remember with you

to aid in holding the weight

of the ineffable mourning

may we gently entangle with one another

like the tender weeping willow

let us roar like the ocean

and explode like stardust

knowing our souls chose these vessels

this time and place

to love and surrender

to love and surrender

to love and surrender
