there you are…

hanging thin and low in the darkness

as the world glitters on below

look at you in the night sky

watching on as i cry out

waiting for the time when

these tear soaked rivers will run dry

measuring our passing time

as you thin and grow and thin again

calendars were set by your shape

marking times of harvest and gang-gang-sual-lae

women linked arms and sang while they danced under your light

and as my heart seeps grief

longing for the one who so tenderly took my peace

i wait for that time when you will fill

and return full to see me whole again

Let’s not suffer in silence. Let’s use our words. Let them drip from the screen to move our hearts, challenge our minds, and enrich our time. Here are mine. Really looking forward to reading what others have to say.
