The price of beauty
Beauty has a price.
Beautiful people are so used to having everything so they don't appreciate anything
Society puts them on a pedestal
For the longest time, they've been told they are allowed to have it all
While others have been actively beaten down, and told 'No, you can't have it all, you don't look the part'
Like that's the point
But hey kings and queens of society
How much will it cost when it's all said and done?
Was it worth it?
That girl you teased mercilessly, did she deserve it?
That genius you tormented into the grave was he worth it?
I suppose the only comfort you'll receive is the adoration of people who care more what you look like and less what you feel like
How could they possibly know ...the sleepless nights you've sweat through because the cotton of expectation in your stomach isn't sitting well
How could they possibly understand the hours spent in the bathroom concealing those bruises from an otherwise handsome devil who treats you like you deserve less than perfection
Those days at the gym
How could they possibly comprehend
The Price Of Beauty
And you, how could you possibly understand working two jobs to keep food on the table
Only cause Mama ain't able
and daddy and stable
How could you understand what it's like
to have no one, to be an outsider
to not give up because you were born a fighter
That deep heartache, not knowing what you did to deserve it
Not wanting to go through it
"Don't matter what you going through just get to it"
How could you understand
How could you? When it's not your job to.
