do you want to hear a tall tale ?

i mean that’s what my mother called it

the big bad wolf stole my youth

devoured & destroyed my innocence

took advantage of my trust

instilled fear that’s layers deep

not even I can reach

I still had to get ready for church

the Sunday rush burned in my brain

just to sit on the frigid pews

& hear my monster preach

sad poetry
